Job Description:Lead the team that builds and scales our products. Craft the product roadmap and drive business impact alongside our Product Managers. Scale the team by partnering closely with our recruiters. Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of engineers. Conduct and deliver performance reviews on a regular basis with an emphasis on coaching and mentoring. Handle incident response and communication. Train new members on Carta’s products and implementation. Coordinate development cycles for their team in conjunction with the team leads for the design group and business group. Participate in the interview process for engineering candidates. Analyze user and business needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of completion within time and cost constraints. Collaborate with engineers, product managers, product designers, and business team members on new software features and ongoing maintenance. Participate in architecture and code reviews with engineers to ensure best practices. Ramp up on a variety of technologies such as Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Javascript ES6, React, Kafka, and more. Assure the quality of their system. Ensure existing tools and services are supported and maintained.Job Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field and five (5) years of product delivery experience in individual contributor or Lead Roles. Will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field and three (3) years of product delivery experience in individual contributor or Lead Roles in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of experience requirement.Three (3) years of experience hiring and training engineers, and building effective technical teams, which may have been gained as part of or in addition to the product delivery experience.Additional experience must include: Estimating and prioritizing business features Developing scalable production quality systems Agile and scrum Modular infrastructure solutions such as AWS, GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes. Managing one or more technical project teams Managing complex SaaS projectsMentoring and coaching engineers, providing technical guidance and support, including system, design & code review Acting as a liaison between engineers, business counterparts, and product managers to solve business problems and build thoughtful solutions Managing relationships and expectations of senior leadership to ensure alignment in vision and roadmapEfficiently scaling teams up in both size and scope Must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.Employer: eShares, Inc. d/b/a Carta, Inc.
