McGraw Hill is currently seeking a Senior Director of Channel and Distribution Strategy to join our Higher Ed team.

This role will be a critical member of McGraw Hill Higher Education (MHHE), accountable for leading the formulation and execution of both near-term and long-term, world-class, multi-channel distribution strategy. The Sr Director, Channel and Distribution Strategy will partner with a complex internal and external stakeholder group, including MHHE and MH executive leadership, critical channel partners, and key educational institutions.

In this position, you will drive a distinct competitive advantage and delight our customers through the lens of channel strategy. You will execute an end-to-end, robust, and elegant approach to inclusive access at scale and develop a deep understanding of emerging trends and opportunities. Your leadership will drive operational excellence across distribution channels, measuring against KPIs and SLAs while developing and executing all distribution contracts. You will serve as the lead relationship manager for MH Higher Education with the executive leadership of major distribution partners and key education institutional executives, and you will work cross-functionally and collaboratively with business leaders across MH towards growth.

This role reports to the VP of Commercial Operations & Strategic Initiatives and works remotely from a home office within the United States. You will travel semi-regularly for in-person meetings and events. Candidates must reside permanently within the United States to be considered for this position.

What can you expect from the position?

  • Lead and be accountable for the development and execution of a world-class, multi-channel distribution strategy in partnership with MH Higher Ed executive leadership. This strategy will fully support MHHE's business into the future, delighting our customers and ensuring distribution is a distinct competitive advantage.
  • Deep focus in executing an end-to-end, robust, and elegant approach to inclusive access at scale. This should include alignment and partnership with major distribution partners and key higher education institution partners, as well as partnership with pan-MH stakeholders and pan-industry stakeholders.
  • Develop a deep understanding of emerging trends / opportunities in the distribution eco-system, partner with Higher Ed key stakeholders to research and evaluate these emerging trends in relationship to outyear strategy, adjust multi-channel distribution strategy to address these trends / opportunities with an execution mindset.
  • Lead and drive distribution operational excellence with an aggressive execution mindset. In deep partnership with pan-MH stakeholders and major distribution partners, make recommendations and execute changes across systems and processes, MH/distribution systems integration, process improvement, and critical insights & reporting all supported and measured by specific KPIs. Clearly articulate accountability and ownership to drive decision-making speed and measure against defined SLA.
  • Accountable for the development and execution of all distribution contracts in deep partnership with pan-MH stakeholders.
  • Serve as the Higher Ed lead relationship manager with the leadership of major distribution partners and key higher education institutional leaders (as it pertains to distribution models).
  • Ensure translation of HE distribution strategy and evangelize across the Higher Education organization; provide weekly executive briefings to Higher Ed Leadership.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Masters Degree, MBA preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of previous management experience
  • Demonstrated problem structuring and strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Maturity and presence, with ability to develop relationships at senior levels in an organization, partners, and customers.
  • Driving strategy for distribution across the Higher Education ecosystem for MH
  • Strong attention to detail, embodying the work ethic and personality that thrives in a fast-paced culture with tight deadlines, and shifting priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; Articulates complex problems and solutions with persuasion.
  • Displays and acts with curiosity, initiative, and integrity.
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and data skills

Preferred experience and skills:

  • Strong financial acumen and modeling skills a plus
  • Experience with digital integration technologies in the education sector
  • Minimum 10 years of Channel Distribution Management Experience

The pay range for this position is between $150,000 - $200,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location.An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
