Amazon Software Development Manager, Demand Forecasting in New York, New York

The Ad Demand Forecasting team is a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers and product managers that builds end-to-end solutions that include machine learning models, large scale indexes and data visualizations. We support a wide variety of advertising programs at Amazon including Display, Video, Devices and many others. Candidates should be comfortable working at senior levels of the organization and coordinating the outcomes of multiple projects. You will partner with engineers, scientists, TPMs, and senior management to create world-class solutions. We're looking for people who are passionate about innovating on behalf of customers, demonstrate a high degree of product ownership, and want to have fun while they make history

As a senior leader in the team, you will be tasked with solving complex technology problems in a fast-paced agile environment, constantly learning and adapting to rapidly evolving customer needs. You will grow a team of talented and experienced engineers to manage the ever growing infrastructure that powers our forecasting models and products.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

New York, NY, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
