Bloomberg LP Senior Software Engineer in New York, New York
Position Duties: Analyze user activities mathematically by using machine learning techniques to detect anomalies. Use JavaScript framework such as Angular/Vue to make web portal reactive and dynamic and fix all performance related problems for the system. Fix high resource usage such as high CPU, high memory and high network I/O. Responsible for designing database schemas. Utilize various query optimization techniques to improve database query efficiency. Develop applications related to Exchange and third party implementation and entitlements. Coordinate with other teams to analyze requirements and propose feasible design for applications. Discuss the design with tech lead and once approved, implement and test it. Responsible for keeping the cache system (Redis) running smoothly and fixing any issue. Use python to do various DevOps (development and operations). Deploy the service using Docker and Kubernetes. Job Requirements: Position requires a Bachelor’s degree or the foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related, and four (4) years of software development experience. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, the employer will accept two (2) additional years of software development experience. Must have one (1) year of experience in each of the following: Linux or Unix; C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, or another high-level programming language; SQL or NoSQL; Data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design concepts; Unit testing; and Scripting. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.Rate of pay: $240,000 - 325,000 / year
