Sumitomo Pharma America, Inc. Senior Manager, Digital Innovator in New York, New York
Responsible for building software tools to drive clinical trial recruitment, identify rare disease diagnoses, intelligently deliver ads, automate processes etc. to accelerate the reduction of time and cost of drug development and commercialization. Utilize software engineering and data science skill sets to rapidly create technology that addresses important pain points across the company and its subsidiaries. Embed with a business unit and lead the process of blueprinting, building and iterating software applications to help solve the team's biggest problems. Collaborate and communicate closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to transform vague Ideas into verified software solutions that meet user needs and performance requirements. Build software solutions to analyze data to find efficiencies, make automations and predict outcomes. Utilize programming languages and compute frameworks to design software applications that are intuitively integrated into workflows. Leverage internal DevOps and Data Architecture teams to deploy code at scale. Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related technical field (or foreign degree equivalent). Required Experience: At least 5 years of experience using data analytics to develop software solutions in the life sciences, biotech or IT industry. Alternate Requirements: Employer will also accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related technical field (or foreign degree equivalent) and 2 years of experience using data analytics to develop software solutions in the life sciences, biotech or IT industry. Other Skills: Demonstrated ability with programming languages, including Python. Flask. React.js. and computing frameworks including Spark, to design software applications; Demonstrated ability with cloud engineering platforms, including designing and developing services in Amazon Web Services; Demonstrated ability working with senior stakeholders to set business requirements and develop software solutions that target user needs and performance requirements; Demonstrated ability in an Agile software development environment and sprint cycles; Demonstrated ability building software solutions to analyze data and large scales to find insights, automations decision making and predict outcomes; Demonstrated ability with presenting technical topics to senior business stakeholders and translating business needs into technical requirements; Demonstrated ability quantifying the financial impact of delivered software solutions using methodologies such as NPV, ROI or IRR, and building working models in Excel. 9-5, M-F. $163,238 - $244,300/year.
