Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Architect to lead the development of IT applications using Appian tools and spearhead new projects in Artificial Intelligence (AI). The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of enterprise-level data management and analytics platforms, including expertise in Data Pipelines, Databricks, and Snowflake.

The Senior Architect will report directly to the Head of IT Group /Chief Information Officer (CIO).

This role is crucial for driving innovation and efficiency in our IT operations and ensuring that our enterprise applications and AI initiatives are aligned with the strategic goals of the organization. The Senior Architect will play a key role in transforming our IT landscape and enhancing our capabilities in data management and analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Appian Application Development: Design and develop robust IT applications using Appian tools. Ensure that these applications are scalable, maintainable, and meet the business requirements of our clients.

  • AI Project Leadership: Lead the initiation, planning, and implementation of new projects in AI. This includes defining project scopes, goals, and deliverables in alignment with business objectives.

  • Data Management Expertise: Utilize expertise in Data Pipelines, Databricks, and Snowflake to enhance data integration, processing, and analytics capabilities. Ensure data accuracy and accessibility to support data-driven decision-making processes.

  • Team Collaboration and Management: Work closely with IT teams, data scientists, and business analysts to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and systems. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.

  • Innovation and Research: Stay abreast of the latest developments in Appian tools, AI technologies, and data management practices. Propose and implement innovative solutions that can provide competitive advantages to the organization.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders to gather requirements, present solutions, and gather feedback. Ensure that all IT solutions align with the strategic goals of the organization.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in IT architecture, with substantial experience in developing applications using Appian tools and leading AI projects.

  • Technical Expertise: Profound knowledge of Data Pipelines, Databricks, and Snowflake. Experience in integrating various data sources and maintaining large-scale data systems.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master's degree or higher is preferred.

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Strong project management skills are essential.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent presentation and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Desired Skills:

  • Certifications: Certifications in Appian, Databricks, Snowflake, or related fields are highly desirable.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Work Environment:

  • This role requires a combination of on-site and remote work. The candidate should be prepared to travel occasionally as per project requirements.

For California only (as required by California's Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act (SB 1162): The expected salary for this position in our California office is $202,000 - $235,000. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi America's variable pay program, subject to the program's conditions and restrictions.
