The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Dining Services the Associate Manager RD will act as the Dining Services liaison for the Columbia Community in regards to nutrition concerns and students who require special needs diet. Under the direction of the AVP of Dining Services the Associate Manager will manage Nutrition Communication for Dining Services. The incumbent will also work with the Marketing and Communications department maintaining the Dining Services Website and other Social Media outlets.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains Nutritionist Pro database of all ingredients and recipes.
  • Responsible for maintaining the nutrition portion of the Dining Services website.
  • Manages the Orderit system and is the liaison with the units for special order diets.
  • Reviews and surveys menu offerings for Vegetarian/Vegan, Allergens, and Low-Fat designation; assigns weekly "Guide to Healthful Food" choices on website (per term) and ensures the integrity of allergen labeling on campus.
  • Provides dietary consultation for meal plan students and staff; acts as liaison on parent and student concerns.
  • Works with all special needs students on campus.
  • Counsels all students who wish to discontinue the meal plan.
  • Works with groups on campus (RA's, Housing, Athletes) to provide nutritional workshops.
  • Schedules daily meetings to meet with students to provide nutritional tabling and counseling.
  • Responds to e-mail or phone inquiries re: nutritional health and/or nutritional offerings.
  • Act as the Dining Services liaison to Health Services and Alice.
  • Is the liaison for new students during New Student Orientation Program.
  • Work with Alice on cooperative programming events hosted by Dining Services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Website & Systems Responsibilities:

  • Maintains Dining Services website and other Social Media outlets which includes maintaining all menus, pictures, and nutritional information.
  • Is the owner of the Orderit and Text and Tell program.
  • Works with Communications and Marketing Department on website changes and upgrades.
  • Maintains day to day revisions which include; Menu changes, Retail Marketing; Hours of Operation and tracking of feedback.
  • Monitors allergen labeling on website.
  • Partners with the entire to team to ensure all the information on the website is updated.
  • Assists with the development of all new website projects for Dining Services.
  • Updates all retail menus and specials on the website.
  • Acts as the Liaison Dining Services liaison with Campus Services IT for Blackboard.
  • Provides support for all register changes during the summer as well as enters new products during the year.
  • Monitors systems to ensure items are being charged correctly.

Management Responsibilities:

  • Organizes and manages all special events in the board plan operations, including but not limited to festive meals.
  • Ensures that all merchandising standards, display presentation, and signing standards are being met at the Dining Locations.
  • Supervises staff to ensure quality services are provided in a challenging and rewarding work environment.
  • Maintains health, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the AVP.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent experience required.
  • Two to four years related experience.
  • Registered as a Dietitian is required.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of web, Nutritionist Pro, preferred.
