The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Reporting to Dr. Daniel Belsky, Columbia University's Robert N Butler Columbia Aging Center is seeking a casual research worker to assist with analyzing prescription data in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. The incumbent will also perform targeted literature reviews to inform analyses, present progress reports, and assist with data management. Co-authorship is offered for all manuscripts to which the incumbent contributes.

Responsibilities

  • 75% - Data analysis
  • 20% - Background research, manuscript preparation, documentation
  • 5% - Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field
  • Must have experience with epidemiologic studies and must be able to conduct analyses using statistical software such as SAS and R

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a quantitative field including biostatistics, epidemiology, or statistics
  • Experience coding claims/EHR/prescription data

Other Requirements

  • Must have experience with data analysis, including linear and logistic regression and must be able to independently learn new statistical and epidemiologic methods to apply in observational studies.
  • Must be detail-oriented, with excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, and the ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and diplomacy at all times.
