Group-S LLC dba EN-POWER GROUP Mechanical Design Engineer II in New York, New York

Job Duties: Conduct site surveys of buildings to determine existing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems to design building upgrades. Make suitable equipment selections based on existing building conditions and desired design parameters. Create design documents that depict complete scope of work and are suitable for filing with the NYC Department of Buildings (NYC DOB) or other regulatory agencies. Create requests for proposal (RFPs) that convey scope of work to potential bidders and help facilitate the bidding process. Communicate plans and participate in meetings with contractors and clients, such as management companies, building owners, and building staff. Coordinate meetings throughout the duration of projects to ensure the successful completion of projects. Assist others by using prior experience and knowledge of construction codes to ensure compliance of existing building MEP systems and proper implementation of proposed building upgrades. Design and support in the review process mechanical designs using prior experience and knowledge of construction codes. Support in maintenance and ongoing improvements of existing analytical tool templates and design procedures. Position requires regular travel to client sites within the New York metropolitan area.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related positionSpecial Skill Requirements: (1) Three years of experience in continuous design and project management related to building MEP system upgrades(2) Energy efficiency concepts(3) HVAC systems(4) Renewable energy systems(5) Autodesk AutoCAD(6) NYC building codes(7) NYC Special and Progress Inspections(8) Energy code analysis(9) Experience sizing, heating, and cooling, domestic hot water (DHW) building loads using approved methods and software(10) Experience selecting, heating, and cooling DHW equipment for commercial and residential buildings, including multifamily buildingsAny suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.

Minimum Salary: 110,000 Maximum Salary: 110,000 Salary Unit: Yearly
