Our New York office is looking for anAnalyst / Associate candidate to join the Strategic Investments team. Strategic Investments makes and manages investments on behalf of Morgan Stanley across market infrastructure, trading and wealth management platforms, and innovative technology companies that are complementary to the Firm’s overall strategic agenda.
Team membersmanage the full investment lifecycle fromsourcing, selection, evaluation, due diligence,negotiation and closingto post-investment monitoring / strategic involvementand exit. Responsibilities include the preparation of detailed valuation analyses and presentations to the Investment Committee,as well as research andmonitoring of industry developments relevant to the Strategic Investments portfolio and MorganStanley’s businesses.
The individual will work closely with the rest of the team as well as colleagues across products and functions firmwide to identify and assess investment opportunities and manage the portfolio. Successful team members in the group are creative and structured analytical thinkers with a passion for investing and implementing solutions within Morgan Stanley.
Qualifications:
· 1-2 years working in investment banking, venture / growth equity, strategy consulting or strategic corporate financewith a proven track record
· Building and analyzing financialmodels and conducting financial due diligence
· Experience managing transaction / investment processes and working across cross-functional teams
· Experience using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $115,000 and $125,000 per year for Analyst level , and between $150,000 and $175,000 per year for Associate level at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
