Overview
Working with portfolios within designated Facilities and Operations procurement spend categories, the Category Lead is responsible for independently managing the procurement category with the goal of improved customer satisfaction, achievement of greater efficiencies, reduction of risk, and realizing financial cost savings. In support of organizational mission and goals, the Category Lead is accountable for effective supplier performance management, customer relationship development, determination of customer needs, supplier diversity, sustainability, sourcing, contract creation, contract execution and contract renewals.
Responsibilities
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree Finance, Economics, or Supply Chain.
Required Experience:
5+ years related procurement experience, including experience with procurement, contract negotiation, customer relationship management and supplier relationship management. Experience with eProcurement technologies.
Preferred Experience:
3+ years experience with strategic sourcing and competitive price analysis.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to develop data-driven category analysis including relevant market insight, supplier understanding, and spend analysis. Demonstrated ability to develop deep category-specific expertise, and define and document key stakeholder business requirements. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple spend categories in a defined portfolio, including management of supplier relationships and diverse supplier programs; manage the contract lifecycle including contract renewals and compliance management; develop deep, sustainable customer relationships; and develop category strategies in collaboration with strategic sourcing resources. Proven ability to understand procurement operations, including payables processes. Demonstrated ability to effectively interact in a cross-functional environment with all levels of management. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including PowerPoint and Excel.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $80,000.00 to USD $100,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
