APPLICANTS MUST BE PERMANENT IN THE ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF ANALYST CIVIL SERVICE TITLE.

The NYPD strives to foster a safe and fair city by incorporating Neighborhood Policing into all facets of Department operations and solve the problems that create crime and disorder through an interdependent relationship between the people and its police, and by pioneering strategic innovation.

The Pre-Employment Services Unit seeks a candidate to serve as an Associate Staff Analyst. The specific duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Review communications received from Command, verify vacancy and create job postings in e-Hire for

    vacant positions.

  • Promote job advertisements online and in print media; Review resumes and ensure applicants meets

    minimum qualifications and preferred skills to determine suitability.

  • Respond to Inquiries from Department personnel and prospective employees.

  • Maintain multiple databases to capture the Unit’s recruitment activities, community outreach and

    developed partnerships.

  • Generate reports and data as requested by Supervisor, maintain databases, utilizing various

    reporting tools for queries.

  • Plan, execute and participate in recruitment activities such as Career Days, Job Fairs, Hiring Halls, etc.

  • Develop and maintain contacts at educational institutions, professional organizations and ethnic

    and community media outlets to promote NYPD job opportunities.

  • Participate in the analysis of management issues and concerns pertaining to the ongoing smooth

    operation of assigned Bureaus.

  • Administer all matters pertaining to creating and implementing recruitment strategies, hiring and

    technological integration to improve and advance the agency’s current recruitment/hiring processes.

  • Continuously partner with LinkedIn, recruitment team and senior managers to design, refine,

    and implement innovative recruiting strategies.

  • Prepare the monthly OMB submission worksheet and ensure submission of all actions via the

    approved OMB excel sheet.

  • Assist the supervisor with updating operational procedures. work methods, and training manuals.

  • Participate in meetings and work groups to develop and enhance Human Resources service

    delivery and team capability where appropriate and in line with the agencies prescribed goals and objectives.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Unit’s Supervisor.

Qualifications

  1. A master’s degree from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a closely related field, and one year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; or in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; or in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee

benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or in a related area; or

  1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and three years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in the areas described in “1" above.
