Job Description

Digitas Health is looking for an Associate Creative Director with a strong focus on Product and Experience Design

This role is responsible for leading creative work that is produced on multiple accounts. As ACD, this role will work closely with client and agency team members to intimately understand business and user needs, partner with a UX Director on the creation of user experience strategies, and advocate for user needs throughout the project development cycle. The ACD will engage in user research, analysis, planning, design system creation and management, and mentor junior UI Designers in the daily execution of project-related activities.

This role will require both oversight of and hands-on creation of deliverables, creation and management of components in Figma design system libraries, as well as contributing to strategic recommendations. As a leader, this role will be responsible for assigning talent-to-task, inspiring design teams to deliver best-in-class executions, and work closely with account leads to ensure clients needs are being met.

The ideal candidate will be resourceful and flexible, with exceptional teamwork skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment: someone who can meet the challenges of working in pharma head-on, and take to heart our mantra of “helping, not selling.”

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of our clients’ business and their needs

  • Guide the creation, use, and management of design systems

  • Design and oversee the creation of user interfaces, prototype functionality

  • Create components for use in shared Figma design system libraries

  • Lead the development of visual styling of components that meet accessibility standards and prioritize user-centric best-practices

  • Mentor and manage the career development of junior team members

  • Inform project scoping and creative team allocations

  • Work closely with other team members (copy, UX, development, etc.)

  • Plan for and facilitate brainstorming sessions

  • Ensure WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards and usability best practices are applied followed

Skills:

  • Experienced manager of junior team members

  • Able to delegate and allocate work across multiple projects

  • Strong grounding in color theory, typography, layout, and composition

  • Expert knowledge of user-centered design principles and interface design

  • Expert in design system workflows and building multi-state components within Figma

  • Great communication skills – able to present work and findings to internal stakeholders, clients, and vendors

  • Expertise in atomic design principles and WCAG 2.2 AA standards for accessibility

  • Perpetually driven to learn new ways of working and to develop new skills

  • Ability and passion to solve problems collaboratively with a small team, but also able to execute independently and make strong recommendations

  • Ability to recognize strong ideas and see them through to completion

  • Ability to sell ideas to other members of the creative team and to clients

  • Ability to meet deadlines for multiple projects simultaneously

  • Discerning attention to detail with excellent critical thinking, logic, and analytical skills

  • Balances and appreciates both the qualitative and quantitative sides of user experience

  • Ability to see other points of view and diplomatically hash out the pros and cons of any approach

Requirements:

  • Four-year degree

  • 8 or more years as a practicing creative professional

  • Agency and pharmaceutical/healthcare industry experience

  • Portfolio of high quality digital work (websites, design systems, experience/service design, etc.)

  • Expertise in using software including Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Mural, etc.

  • Desired:

  • Agile experience is a plus

Compensation Range: $98,500 - $165,500. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
