Organization Overview

The Finance Department of the University encompasses the Controller's Office and the Office of Budget,Treasury,and Research Administration. These offices are dedicated to ensuring the integrity of data submitted,recorded,and reported and to providing the highest level of financial services in support of the University's mission in Biomedical Research.

Overview

There are two (2) Accounts Payable Analyst positions available. Internal candidates have been identified. The Accounts Payable Analyst will be responsible for a combination of data-entry, customer-service, and administrative duties

Responsibilities

These responsibilities include entering designated PO-related invoices in the Oracle system while the department is in the process of going paperless, helping convert vendors currently being paid by check to ACH payment method, and reviewing bank details for ACH payments before they are released to the bank. The Analyst will also support additional projects related to the Accounts Payables department’s transition to paperless. Other responsibilities include: processing Federal Express invoices for two main accounts for the university, preparing journal entries for year-end cleanup and accruals, and entering and balancing monthly wire transfer invoices paid by the Treasury department. Analyst will review payment batches for weekly checks/ACH payments, and bi-weekly employee expense reimbursements through payroll, ensuring all information is correct, keeping track of all payments, expenditures, invoices, and statements, and reconciling any reports necessary following RU policies and procedures. Additionally, they will review reports for holds placed on invoice files, and work to resolve hold and process payments for invoices while also reviewing invoices entered in the Oracle system before the payments are processed. Other tasks include managing and paying open transactions before due dates with vendors, distributing mail, and providing coverage for other AP members during emergency or vacation usage.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of one year of accounts payable experience required; educational emphasis in business or accounting preferred. Must be highly proficient with computers, including Oracle, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Must be reliable and possess a strong work ethic. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organization skills, and excellent typing ability are required. Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and interpersonal skills are necessary. Must be able to multitask, problem-solve and have excellent priority management skills. Prior account software experience is a plus.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on various factors, including but not limited to organizational budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The hiring range provided represents The Rockefeller University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
