Purpose : Part of the Global Prime Services Client Solutions team with the mandate of delivering product enhancements, reengineering of existing processes and responding to client demand. This a critical role for the continued growth of the business, consistent with client expectations, Prime Services’ product offering, and Scotiabank’s risk and compliance standards. Works closely with the broader Prime Services team globally and business partners across Scotiabank to develop product enhancements and reengineering existing business process. Proactively identifies opportunities, challenges and risks related to client transactions and provides solutions to meet the needs of clients and the business in order the expedite new business and drive revenue.

What You’ll Do

  • Help steer and oversee the strategic development of Prime Services products.

  • Supporting product development for Prime Services globally (U.S., Canada and Europe).

  • Assistance with transactions and projects with other groups such as Collateral Management and Funding, Global Equity Sales and Trading and for Global Banking and Markets generally.

  • Drive discussions and coordinate projects relating to cash prime brokerage, synthetic prime brokerage, securities lending, collateral management and funding.

  • Work with various groups including Technology, Operations, Finance, Legal and Compliance on Prime Service-related activities.

  • Work closely with Prime Services sales and marketing team to aid in the expansion of the Prime Services business.

  • Gather strategic requirements and priories for Prime Service-related products providing strategic solutions.

  • Act as subject matter-expert and leverage experience to develop innovative solutions

  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Scotiabank relationships, systems and knowledge.

  • Understand and communicate Prime Services’ offering to clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Understand and communicate client trading strategies, business structures and operational requirements to internal stakeholders. Assist in evaluating client requirements in relation to the business offering.

  • Assist with business transformation projects and various organizational structure and processes changes for Prime Services in response to business needs and industry developments.

  • Assist with the development of new products and transactions for clients and internal business structures.

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 10 years of related experience in Prime Services or Capital Markets

  • Strong technical, communication and project management skills

  • Detail-oriented, analytical and ability to multi-task

  • University degree

  • Series 7, Series 63
