The Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) is seeking a dedicated Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Supervisor to oversee a specialty unit of counselors, interns, and Early Reach professionals. This position gives you the opportunity to ensure appropriate services are provided to individuals with disabilities in a fiscally sound manner according to federal and state guidelines for the purpose of preparing for, obtaining, and maintaining competitive employment. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Vocational Rehabilitation Supervisor, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing a unit of rehabilitation professionals as they provide services to individuals with disabilities while implementing the operational goals of the VR Program through assigning, scheduling, directing, and monitoring unit activities. Work includes assigning referrals to counselors and interns based upon location, specialties, and caseload guidelines as well as assisting counselors and interns with developing referral sources. You will have the opportunity to work in conjunction with assigned staff to ensure counselor's determinations of eligibility, planning, and provision are completed in accordance with federal and state policies and regulations, while considering customer's needs and desires.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in New Castle.
  • Salary:Most employees will start at the beginning level of the advertised salary.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor; Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, Deaf and Hard of Hearing; Vision Rehabilitation Therapist; or Orientation and Mobility Specialist (commonwealth titles); or
  • Two years as a Social Worker 2 (commonwealth title) in the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation; or
  • Two years of professional experience in a public vocational rehabilitation program; AND possession of an active Certified Rehabilitation Counselor certificate issued by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification; or
  • Two years of professional experience in a public vocational rehabilitation program; AND a master's degree in vocational rehabilitation, mental health, special education, social work, human services, psychology, business administration, human resources, public administration, or a closely related field.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirementis currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
