Position Summary/Description:

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Talent Management and Acquisition, this position oversees the professional development and training operations throughout the University Development Office and OneCarolina. This includes acting as a consult to staff in areas of educational and instructional design, performance management and goal setting, bench marking and training as needed. The position will analyze the professional development and training needs set strategy and plans in these areas.

Education and Experience:

  • 3 Years of experience in professional development/training in a complex organization which includes designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs.

  • Experience with e-learning software (e.g. articulate, Camtasia) preferred.

  • Experience in complex organizations (e.g. higher education) supporting staff learning preferred.

  • Experience in an advancement/fundraising setting.

Essential Skills:

The successful candidate will have experience in professional development/training in a complex organization which includes designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs. Experience working with employees and managers on career development and coaching.

Experience working with learning management systems to create and track online learning.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills are required as well as experience in writing user manuals and procedural documentation. Experience and ability to develop curriculum and teach a variety of classes both in large and small settings is essential. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented and capable of appropriately handling sensitive information while maintaining strict confidentiality. A solid working knowledge of MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required.
