Description

  • Required to be qualified on and work with some ground support equipment, special calibration equipment, special tools and all related maintenance manuals, maintenance requirement cards, parts breakdown manuals, technical directives, diagrams, schematics, blueprints and drawings.

  • Position requires enrollment into the Respiratory Protection Program.

  • Diagnose, isolate and correct system malfunction(s).

  • Initial Medical Provider clearance to wear a respirator with recurring annual clearance/physical examination and subsequent respirator clearance and fit test required.

  • Must be able to meet physical requirements of the position in accordance with NAVAIRINST 3710.1 series. Position regularly requires standing, walking, use of hands and fingers to handle, grip or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and to talk or hear.

  • Frequently required to climb or balance and work in small spaces.

  • Ladder work and working at heights at or above 40 feet is required.

  • Must be able to physical/direct manual lifting of weights greater than 50lbs is required on a frequent basis to accomplish requirements as published on the daily flight schedule.

  • Able to work in outside weather conditions on aircraft flight line/ramp.

  • Qualify to operate support equipment (SE) for flight line operations.

  • Shall be required to participate in the confined space program as attendant or entrant for aircraft fuel tank corrosion prevention/control or repair.

  • Position requires thorough knowledge of flight line operations procedures.

  • Ensure all maintenance actions are performed in accordance with government and OSHA safety standards. Perform preventative maintenance duties as determined by written and verbal instructions.

  • Shall interact with other groups/personnel within and outside of the department to resolve related problems. Comply with all applicable sections of the CNAFINST 4790.2, NAVAIRINST 3710.1 series, and V2X Local Site Procedures pertaining to aircraft maintenance.

  • Ensure work areas are kept clean and free of FOD.

  • Maintain required logs and records.

  • Comply with all OSHA and V2X safety rules and regulations.

  • Perform related duties as assigned, including any and all duties of lower rated technical personnel within their classification. Assist other shops/skills as required.

Experience & Education:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.

  • Specialized training courses are desirable.

  • Shall have a minimum of 3 years US Navy/USMC/USCG O-level CNAFINST 4790.2 Series aircraft maintenance support experience.

  • Shall have a minimum of 3 years T/M required/series preferred aircraft maintenance experience within 7 years for the T/M/S aircraft hired to maintain.

  • O-level T/M required/series preferred experience is most desired.

  • Experience as Shall have experience as a Quality Assurance Representative (QAR), Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI), Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) is strongly desired.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Shall possess or can qualify for a Secret Clearance as required.

  • Required to obtain a Govt. issued Common Access Card (CAC).

  • Shall possess or can qualify for a U.S. states driver’s license.

Preferred

  • Required to operate an overhead crane.

  • May be required to operate a forklift.

  • Travel may be required.
