Our client, a reputable property management company, is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial operations and reports. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in reconciliations, month-end close processes, intercompany accounts, and project accounting. Proficiency in YARDI is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts, bank statements, and intercompany transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.

• Month-End Close: Manage the month-end close process, including the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements. Maintain the month-end close checklist to ensure all tasks are completed timely and accurately.

• Intercompany Accounts: Oversee the recording and reconciliation of intercompany transactions and balances. Ensure all intercompany activities are properly documented and in compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.

• Project Accounting: Handle the accounting for various projects, including budgeting, tracking expenses, and ensuring proper allocation of costs. Work closely with project managers to provide financial insights and support for project financial performance.

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Provide detailed analysis and explanations of variances to management.

• Compliance and Audit: Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring all necessary documentation and information are provided. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the property management or real estate industry.

• Software Proficiency: Must have hands-on experience with YARDI property management software.

• Skills: Strong understanding of GAAP, excellent analytical skills, and attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.

• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
