Job Summary and Qualifications

As an Information Technology Group (ITG) Product Manager, you will be responsible for defining core processes, systems, and implementing innovative technical solutions within HCA Healthcare theatre in support of The Google Cloud Platform (GCP) program involving clinical data. The Healthcare Data Engine (HDE) serves as the foundation for critical data-driven decisions, powering analytics, insights, and innovations across our healthcare ecosystem.

The HDE Product Manager position within the Accelerated Technologies Department, is responsible for ownership and support of the HDE product at HCA. The primary function of this role is to serve as Product subject matter expert, and liaison between ITG and business partners in support of clinical analytical and application initiatives. This role is responsible for analyzing and understanding the HCA GCP product ecosystem, collaborating with stakeholders across HCA Healthcare to define the strategic vision, roadmap, and feature priorities, and championing the HCA need with our Google Partners.

-This role will partner closely with engineering, data science, and other cross-functional teams to translate product vision into actionable plans, user stories, and technical requirements as well as drive adoption and usage of the HDE product through effective marketing, training, and support initiatives.

  • This role will partner with Project Management and lead agile product development processes, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release management, to deliver high-quality features and enhancements. The HDE Product manager will monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), customer satisfaction metrics, and other success criteria to evaluate the effectiveness of the product and identify areas for improvement. This role will resolve issues through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies collaborating with subject matter experts.

  • This role will have a demonstrated mastery of the HCA enterprise clinical applications and data processes for moderate to difficult applications, batch, streaming, on-line and event-driven initiatives. This role will define, document, and lead teams on the implementation of processes involved with clinical data on GCP and will create and enable strategy and framework to address multiple GCP initiatives, while maintaining a high level of logistical management for mission-critical projects as identified by our business owners.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Must maintain privacy and confidentiality of patient information

  • Develops a deep understanding of business goals and processes to inform product priorities and governance of product.

  • Understand and prioritize timeframes automate and improve processes associated with source clinical data migrating to the GCP platform

  • Aligns Data Management team with analytics and product teams across the company.

  • Responsible for onboarding product teams to use HDE.

  • Ensuring visibility of current product priorities as well as future plans (roadmaps and backlogs).

  • Prepare analyses/reports based on audit results, including recommendations for corrective action; maintain records of audits and follow-up of corrective actions.

  • Communicate with third party vendors to clarify requirements, address issues, proactively identifying and removing blockers hindering advancement of product delivery/support.

  • Respond to external requests for information required by the organization for its regulatory filings, such as health information exchanges (HIE).

  • Lead in developing, producing and conducting GCP training programs.

  • Consult on deep dives into extremely complex issues, their root causes, and their solutions. Ensure timely proactive issue identification, escalation & resolution

  • Establish a strong inclusive culture, encouraging innovation, inclusion, teamwork and diversity.

  • Manage a dynamic team of IT professional including data engineers, data architects and data analysts

  • Proactively evaluate and champion/influence change across all delivery teams that will mitigate risks to quality and to the GCP ecosystem, and provide multiple viable options for mitigation of such risks.

  • Promote change control processes and ensure program/project communications.

  • Provide consultation to the business on how to obtain business value from data, as well as providing guidance on where the correct data resides within the HCA ecosystem to support various business processes.

  • Provide leadership and mentoring to less experienced team members.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree Preferred

  • 3+ years of experience in leading the design and implementation as it applies to data and business intelligence reporting solutions.

  • Subject matter expert with project logistics around reporting, audit requirements, and audit procedures.

  • Expert knowledge of Jira, MS Project, Service Central

  • Knowledge of clinical data with the ability to effectively interpret, communicate and educate others is preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.

  • Highly detail oriented and organized with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must have experience of preparing technical specifications, detailed requirements and developing test cases.

  • Proven experience leading a team of internal and external resources both onsite and in remote locations.

  • Problem-solving skills: Individuals at our company have well-honed analytical skills coupled with business acumen to structure problems, deliver solutions, and communicate insights.

  • A deep understanding of regulatory data lifecycle (database design, data profiling, data quality, master data management, data warehouses/marts/staging/ODS)

  • Experience with relational database management systems: Teradata and DB2

  • Strong understanding of data integration, source target mapping and business rules transformation in a heterogeneous systems environment.
