As an IT Domain & Solution Architect for Sustainability, you’ll have the opportunity to make meaningful impact by driving sustainability through technology, shaping the future of our IT SUS team and being part of the IT Domain team for “Sustainability & EHS” which facilitates cross-functions and business exchange on Sustainability related architecture topics.

Responsibilities:

  • Define to-be architecture, transformation roadmap & drive its implementation in close collaboration with the Head of Sustainability Data Strategy & Architecture (SUS) and stakeholders like business / function architects and IT value centers, ensuring interoperability of sustainability solutions within and across architecture domains.

  • Ensure transparency on the as-is- architecture for the IT Architecture Domain and solutions in sustainability

  • Actively collaborate with enterprise architects and engage in IT domain architecture community to align sustainability requirements across architecture domains, businesses & functions.

  • Create and align IT domain-specific concepts, guidelines & best-practices

  • Support project-/program leads, service and application owners regarding IT domain and solution architecture for sustainability

  • Define how IT solutions are designed, implemented and operated considering defined IT standards, architecture guidelines & Siemens IT strategy

  • Understand technical architecture of sustainability solutions their integration into the overall IT landscape and be able to recommend improvements

  • Identify & report unavoidable deviations from the target architecture design (technical debts)

  • Provide transparency on sustainability IT domain and solution architecture during audits to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.

  • Stay up to date with trends in sustainability & technology, identifying opportunities to enhance the sustainability domain and solution architecture

  • Engage with external communities to ensure regular outside-in views, address common challenges and learn from industry best-practices.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in information technology, computer science, business administration, or a related field.

  • 5 years plus of Experience as IT Domain and/or Solution Architect

  • Strong understanding of IT architecture principles, methodologies, and best practices

  • Strong understanding of solution architectural concepts and patterns, e.g., for integration, composability, and high motivation for staying up to date with latest technological innovations

  • Passion for driving positive change through technology and sustainability

  • You are committed to going above and beyond your core responsibilities and feel comfortable in a dynamic working environment with high senior management attention

  • You enjoy collaboration between different stakeholder groups and working on a common and aligned architecture landscape

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks and tools (e.g. TOGAF).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on designing innovative and sustainable IT architectures

  • Knowledge of sustainability principles and practices, with an understanding of how technology can contribute to sustainability goals.

  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams, bridging the gap between business requirements and technical solutions.

  • Understanding of security and compliance considerations in IT solutions & architecture
