They are a leading global tier one supplier of airframe and engine structures, landing gear, electrical interconnection systems, transparencies, and aftermarket services. There are 41 manufacturing sites across 12 countries. The Muncie Indiana location is the sole internal supplier within g and they produce forgings utilized within the engine structures. They currently need 1 process manufacturing engineer to join their team.

The manufacturing process begins as a steel rod, which goes through an extrusion process (heating the metal), and then a 2-3 step “Upset” process which is how it shapes the material. The facility currently has 200 different active part numbers. The have a large forge shop with CNC Machining, Laster Cutters, and various others.

The selected candidate will spend 80% of their time supporting process improvement, continuous improvement activities, downtime investigations, and quality initiatives. Examples of this would include part returns that have defects and determining whether process or operator error. Any machine upgrades, capital projects, or quality process change would be lead or assist on by this candidate. 20% would be supporting plant meetings, potential customer solutioning, and potential leadership activities.

Must Haves

1. Bachelors of Engineering (Preference BSME, but MET also works. IE if very relevant experience)

2. 1-7 years of post graduation work experience. Preference is 2-4

3. Job Shop/Machining/Forging type manufacturing experience

4. Continuous improvement, process improvement, quality investigations experience

5. Strong communication skills
