About you and this role

Leads the supply chain for one or more parts of the business, to drive a customer-centric culture and to define and execute plans that drive key elements of the business strategy. Moves, handles and stores chemicals and products in a safe and secure manner that complies with regulatory requirements and in an efficient way.

In this role, you will serve as a first-line leader for a team of planners/Schedulers and require knowledge of operational business practices within your discipline or functional area. You will need to understand how to apply established practices and coordinate activities of multiple teams to improve efficiency. You should also be able to explain information, convey performance expectations, and handle sensitive issues.

It is your responsibility to be able to use judgment to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems and escalate issues with broader business impacts to your leader. You have formal supervisory responsibilities and lead teams either of technical operations, business operations, or operational support employees. You will set daily priorities and coordinate resources to meet operational objectives. Your performance impacts the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of your team members and their contributions to broader operations.

Responsibilities

  • Owns supply and demand balances for the relevant value center or geographic scopes. Establishes strategic/tactical inventory boundary targets and manages supply plans against those targets

  • Defines strategies to manage total inventory to target expectations and customer service availability agreements. Leads S&OP processes within the relevant geographic scopes and actively participates in the global S&OP process. Provides guidance and direction to enable Supply Chain Planners to effectively balance supply and demand, make sourcing decisions and manage working capital within agreed business targets

  • Facilitates training, certification and on job mentoring. Drives continuous improvement by periodically reviewing and providing recommendations to enhance the distribution network, and by ensuring current manufacturing strategies are appropriate. Proactively shares and ensures compliance with best practices and procedures. Ensures governance over master data maintenance is in place and is being followed properly

  • Drives global supply chain initiatives by interfacing with other supply chain personnel in the business and shared services. Ensures that the SC Planning process operates in compliance with required ISO Standards. Initiates analysis/modeling required to evaluate alternative supply chain designs and/or to modify supply chain capabilities/networks to meet the business strategy

  • Engages cross-functional efforts to deliver performance improvement (i.e. leads Sales & Operations Planning team). Implements metrics for setting and delivering global supply chain targets including inventory, supply chain cost to serve, transactional service standards, service levels and service quality. Tracks key performance metrics, supply chain performance data, and generates improvement opportunities and implements new, identified opportunities to deliver lowest cost

Qualifications

  • Six or more years of experience in a Supply Chain or Manufacturing Environment

  • University Degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or other Sciences

  • APICS certification preferred, OMP Knowledge is an advantage
