Team Overview

Technology and Operations (“Tech Ops”) supports the development of the firm's operating infrastructure to support BlackRock's investment businesses worldwide. Tech Ops establishes and coordinates operational procedures internally and externally with clients, custodians, accounting agents, prime brokers, broker-dealers, and other vendors, as well as strengthen BlackRock's relationships.

Global Fund Distributor Services (“GFDS”) is a unit within Tech Ops - Global Accounting And Product Services (GAAPS). GFDS provides management and oversight of BlackRock Fund Transfer Agents and distribution partners that service and distribute our Fund Ranges globally. We also perform governance and oversight of BlackRock’s Retail Fund Distribution Partners.

As we look to expand GFDS footprint in India, we are seeking a People Manager Associate to supervise the transition & lead the team. The role will require a wide skills including the ability to smoothly transition work from onshore team, complex reconciliations, excellent communication and build partnerships with internal and external partners. You will play a key role in shaping up our offshore team.

As part of the team this role will primarily be responsible for the following:

· Lead a team of 4 supporting US/EMEA Fund Distributor Payments & EMEA Transfer Agency Financial Control reconciliation process

· All facets of people management to be performed including: coaching and development of staff, leading and motivating as well as performing goal-setting, 1-1s, mid-year and year-end staff reviews

· Collaborate with on-shore GFDS stakeholder(s) for supporting transition of work/services to Off-shore location which involves smooth handover, adherence to defined policies, procedures, and timelines

· Work in partnership with our global GFDS team members to ensure the US FD payments/EMEA retrocession payments & CASS activity including the daily oversight of external and internal client money and corporate reconciliations are completed accurately and timely within our agreed upon SLA while maintaining a consistent focus on superior client experience.

· Manage day-to-day operations, supervising the operations team, exception monitoring and effective escalation of any discrepancies to ensure transparency on outstanding issues while properly mitigating areas of risk

· Conduct root cause analysis for operational problem and ensuring appropriate remedial steps are clearly defined and assigned to mitigate risks.

· Participate in periodic reviews and updates to the operating model/service level documentation.

· Lead and motivate team towards identifying opportunities for process enhancements and other strategic operational enhancements that facilitates operational processes or mitigates operational risk

Experience

· Candidate should possess a minimum of 5 - 7 years of financial services experience and have a good understanding of Financial Markets, preferably within Asset Management, Invoice Reconciliation or Transfer Agency Oversight.

· Minimum of 2 - 3 years of supervisory experience; demonstrated experience in leading teams of professionals, staff development, coaching and performance assessments.

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting (strongly preferred) or Finance.

· Process Transition experience a plus

· Microsoft Office experience, including strong Excel knowledge a must

· Proficient in SQL and similar database technologies (Aqua Data) as well as an emphasis on automation and visualization tools (Tableau/PowerBI)

· Report on progress to the manager, escalating any obstacles that may prevent you delivering on your agreed workload

· Look for any opportunities to improve business processes and technology tools, with a lens on risk management and mitigation

· Provide exceptional client service through quick and complete response to internal/external client queries

· Assist with developing metrics and reporting for senior management

· Outstanding work ethic and willingness to contribute beyond the scope of one's role to achieve team and firm objectives
