Microsoft is looking for an individual to help build and shape the Microsoft Advertising North America Channel Partner Sales team. Microsoft is looking for a top performing Partner Sales Executive with search and native advertising experience who can drive revenue and increase customer satisfaction by developing and cultivating strategic partner relationships and delivering customized search solutions aligning to the partner’s advertising needs.

The Channel Partner is a group that's part of the Global Partner and Retail Media (GPRM) within Microsoft Advertising, which operates globally. GPRM is at the forefront of the digital advertising sector, aiding Microsoft in establishing its role as a crucial technology provider that facilitates the purchase and sale of digital ads across its comprehensive digital portfolio. GPRM provides global empowerment to advertisers by selling to partners, agencies, and small-to-medium business customer divisions.

Responsibilities

Account Planning / Management

  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of the partner's business model and marketing strategies. Helps lay foundations for marketing and business strategies aimed at growing opportunities among current and new clients. Shares customer feedback via appropriate feedback channels to enhance team capabilities and adapt Microsoft's messaging to clients. Guides peers and internal partners in contact with clients on proper communication strategies that articulate Microsoft's offerings.

  • Proactively expands strategic network of key internal and external partners and other business decision makers for clients to ensure execution of core tasks and account transactions, and to provide seamless account management experience. Grows sales and partner impact. Leads efforts with key internal partners and business and technical decision makers to develop and share long-range, comprehensive, tailored account plans that meet Microsoft and client needs. Formulates marketing strategies based on partner and Microsoft needs, scaling business across regions/segments or globally.

  • Supports Partner Account Manager and internal partner team to ensure timely and proactive parter escalations and resolutions (e.g., with Ad Support, Billing, Advertiser Trust and Safety), when needed. Leverages internal partner network to resolve day-to-day escalations and revenue blockers.

Sales Focus

  • Positions oneself as a thought leader and trustedadvisor to the executive-level business decision makers at the partner business. Identifies and engages decision makers and stakeholders to expand therelationship with the partner and leverages best-in-class sales and communication strategies and tools to accelerate sales.

  • Leverages tools (e.g., customized performance dashboards, data, insights) to inform and prioritize upsells and optimizations. Leads account conversations with key internal partners to evaluate partner performance, develop short- and long-term strategies, and act upon optimization opportunities as a way to improve the quality of solutions offered to partners. Drives growth revenue and adoption by identifying new opportunities outside of the dedicated book of business.

  • Develops compelling, value-proposition presentations and specialized business plans for clients that showcase Microsoft products and solutions to generate business and upsells, and uses a comprehensive approach (e.g., 360-degree view) of selling Microsoft advertising products and solutions to connect clients to the broader Microsoft solutions. Presents business plans to partners to accelerate the closing of deals and guides others on how to tailor presentations for clients.

  • Proactively develops and executes strategies for maximizing upselling opportunities and driving new potential client acquisitions. Leverages story telling strategies to highlight Microsoft's product offerings and Microsoft's advertising solutions (e.g., Search, Display, Native, Video, Retail) to solve client business and technology issues and to elevate client business. Guides peers and the account management team on ways to identify selling opportunities and to acquire new business.

  • Lays out and drives revenue and client satisfaction long-term growth strategies. Proactively promotes development of deep and influential relationships with client contacts. Seeks partner feedback (both formal and informal) regarding ways to acquire/retain/grow more of their business and to identify and understand the drivers of satisfaction and dissatisfaction, determine the root cause of problems, and establish recovery action plan to improve clients' overall experience. Guides account team members and broader business partners to ensure they are versed in the clients' initiatives.

  • Actively engages partners to clearly articulate the value of the Microsoft's strategy and other products and services and favorably position Microsoft’s value proposition of the Advertising platform to increase customer budget allocation to Microsoft's advertising offerings (e.g., Search, Display, Native, Video, Retail). Translates features into business impact and outcomes that accelerate the customer's digital presence. Advocates internally to others on ways to promote the relevance of Microsoft expertise to its business.

Client Engagement

  • Proactively develops a comprehensive understanding of clients' business needs and their competition and market competitive trends, and anticipates clients' needs to deliver new insights on clients' business strategies. Delivers advertising solutions into overall business strategy. Proactively keeps up-to-date with industry changes and gains knowledge of client business priorities, seasonality, and drivers to positively articulate the value of Microsoft Advertising solutions within that context. Identifies and pursues opportunities to optimize offerings and guides others on ways to develop deeper client knowledge.

  • Proactively owns and elevates a partner engagement strategy among internal partners to foster trust and brand growth and loyalty. Articulates Microsoft's point of view and creates deep connections with partners to drive purchase decisions, interaction, and increase participation.

Industry Knowledge

  • Actively participates in team calls to share knowledge of the industry (e.g., emerging products and features). Provides advice and industry expertise to help inform decisions on pursuit or withdrawal, close deals in competitive situations, and execute on upsell opportunities. Evaluates opportunities and position Microsoft against competitors.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience in Sales, Advertising, or Marketing with online media or digital advertising

  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field AND 5+ years experience in Sales, Advertising, or Marketing with online media or digital advertising

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 1+ year(s) experience with planning, budgeting, and other project management activities.

  • 8+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Partner management in the digital advertising industry; Negotiation of complex enterprise deals; building relationships with executive stakeholders and making strategic recommendations.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in Sales, Marketing, or related field AND 12+ years experience in Sales, Partner Sales, Advertising, or Marketing with a focus on online media, or digital advertising

  • OR Master's Degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field AND 10+ years experience in Sales, Partner Sales,Advertising, or Marketing with a focus on online media, or digital advertising

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Experience building relationships and providing recommendations to executive stakeholders.

Partner Account Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,100 - $185,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $144,000 - $203,500 per year.
