We are looking for Product Manager II to define and build the next generation of Application Gateway Ingress Controllers to revolutionize performance, scale, security, and resiliency for Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) workloads. Azure Application Gateway is part of the Azure Networking team, which will enable you with opportunities to incorporate cutting-edge innovations in software-defined networking and container networking into the product. Application Gateway powers a large number of Azure customers to meet their business needs and deliver mission-critical workloads. Responsibilities

  • You will drive and track success criteria for Application Gateway Ingress and Gateway Controller features. You’ll also partner with others to identify short-term investment opportunities and collaborate with partners to garner support for this.

  • You will demonstrate ability to define feature sets and will facilitate usability reviews with customers. You’ll own a portion of the roadmap for Ingress/Gateway Controllers and will organize scenario walkthroughs to identify problems.

  • You will partner with Product Marketing teams by helping build marketing, roll-out, and customer support plans. You’ll also promote the group of features you worked on and co-present at large events.

  • You will partner with others to collect performance metrics and form hypotheses to incrementally improve product development in specific areas. You’ll also manage customer communities and build trust with targeted customers.

  • You will work extensively with engineering teams to scope, prioritize and drive feature specifications.

  • You will develop blogs and demos to promote Application Gateway Ingress Controllers and drive adoption.

  • You will participate in detailed competitive assessment to identify critical focus areas for product expansion.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 1+ years of experience in shipping customer-facing solutions or products as a Product Manager

  • 1+ years of experience with Kubernetes ecosystem.

  • 1+ years of experience working on Cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP) and large distributed systems.

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management

  • OR software development.

  • OR eqivalent experience.

  • Domain knowledge of load balancer landscape. Familiarity with ingress/gateway controllers, Istio would be preferred.

  • Proficiency in cross team collaboration and the ability to lead without authority.

  • Comfortable with complexity and ability to generate clarity in a highly ambiguous environment.

  • Experience in creating roadmap and collaborating with engineering leads to drive the delivery of the feature.

  • Methodical, curious, data driven with bias for action and a track record of completion.

Product Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
