DETAILS:

  • Location: X's headquarters in Mountain View, CA

  • Start Date(s): Year-round rolling basis

  • Duration: a flexible 4 mo. to 1 year program based on project team needs and your availability

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be enrolled in an academic program and working towards completing a PhD degree

WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON:

  • Develop and automate a novel photonic test setup for wafer-level measurements of optical antennas.

  • Develop and optimize measurement methodology for best accuracy and throughput.

  • Suggest changes and modifications to on-wafer test-site layout to improve accuracy and speed of wafer-level measurements.

  • Script and program measurement automation for automated and unattended wafer-level measurements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven track record of contributions to relevant projects

  • photonic measurements

  • laboratory automation

  • measurement optimization

  • optics table setup alignment and bring-up

  • Knowledge and understanding of

  • photonic integrated circuits

  • free-space optics

  • mechanical considerations in optical setups

  • Python scripting and programming

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

+ + Knowledge of optimization algorithms and experience in their applications to measurement automation

  • Photonic design and tapeout experience

  • Mechanical design and CAD experience

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $118,000 - $145,000 + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.
