SENIOR DIRECTOR/DEPUTY TITLE IX COORDINATOR

Position Summary The Senior Director/Deputy Title IX Coordinator reports to the Executive Director of the Office of Civil Rights and Institutional Equity (OCRIE)/Title IX Coordinator and serves as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator. The Senior Director/Deputy Title IX Coordinator has designated oversight of conducting inquiries and investigations into reports of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. In consultation with the to the Executive Director, the Senior Director/Deputy Title IX Coordinator will oversee the case management of matters reported to OCRIE from intake through resolution. The Senior Director/Deputy Title IX Coordinator will supervise investigator(s) and conduct investigations of sexual misconduct, discrimination, harassment, and related retaliation involving students, staff, faculty, or visitors in compliance with federal and state laws and university policies and procedures. The Senior Director/Deputy Title IX Coordinator will also assist the Executive Director in various administrative duties, including developing reports, delivering training, and assisting with campus climate assessment.

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree. Seven years of professional work experience with equal opportunity, affirmative action, Titles VI or VII of the Civil Rights Act, Title IX of the Education Amendment, or other relevant experience. Experience conducting harassment, discrimination, and/or sexual misconduct investigations. Experience in collecting, analyzing data, and making sound assessments. Comprehensive knowledge of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to state and federal laws related to harassment, discrimination, and sexual misconduct. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including conveying relevant information in clearly written reports. Excellent interpersonal skills, including working effectively with individuals from underrepresented groups with understanding and sensitivity to issues experienced by individuals from diverse backgrounds. Demonstrated intercultural competence and proven effectiveness in working with people from diverse backgrounds and constituencies, including students, faculty, staff, administrators, and community partners. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively and on sensitive matters professionally and in a confidential manner. Demonstrated commitment to diversity. Ability to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
