The Senior Environmental Engineer - Air is responsible for all aspects of air permitting and management. This role will work under the supervision of the Environmental Manager to establish, maintain, and audit environmental programs to ensure continued compliance

with all applicable air regulations and to look for continuous improvement. The Senior Environmental Engineer - Air will also remain current with all relevant environmental regulations through continuing education and professional development. The candidate that fills this position will play a key role in communicating and coaching Group14 colleagues to meet and follow environmental standards and best practices. This role will have responsibility for air programs at multiple Group14 facilities.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING :

You will help to ensure Group14’s environmental compliance by:

-Obtain and maintain necessary air permits, including preparing applications for new permits, modifications, and renewals.

-Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies, including annual emissions inventories and periodic compliance reports.

-Serve as the primary contact with regulatory agencies (e.g., Ecology/EPA, state environmental agencies) regarding air quality issues.

-Oversee continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS) and periodic emissions testing to ensure compliance with permit conditions.

-Implement and manage ambient air quality monitoring programs as required.

-Coordinate and conduct monthly source testing for specific emission points as required by permits and regulations.

-Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all emission sources and associated emissions data.

-Analyze emissions data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.

-Evaluate and recommend air pollution control technologies to reduce emissions and improve air quality.

-Develop and deliver training programs for plant personnel on air quality regulations, permit requirements, and best practices for emissions reduction.

-Conduct internal audits to ensure air permits and regulations compliance and develop corrective action plans for identified non-compliance.

-Participate in MOC/PSM/Engineering activities.

-Manage projects related to air quality, including the installation of new emissions control equipment and the development of new monitoring programs.

-Maintain professional certifications as appropriate.

-Support Environmental and Safety department activities, as needed.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR :

-Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree (preferred) in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.

-Must have at least 10+ years of air quality management experience as an Environmental Engineering role in chemical manufacturing or oil & gas refinery industry.

-Must have knowledge of environmental regulations for air, water, waste, and chemical programs.

-International experience with air programs, EU/German regulation experience strongly desired. Domestic Title V/PSD experience strongly desired.

-Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence other functional leaders toward superior environmental performance.

-Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to successfully solve problems and influence others.

-Ability to read, understand, interpret, initiate, establish, and explain environmental regulations.

-Excellent attention to detail, with curiosity and tenacity to understand and solve problems.

The annual base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000. All positions come with a company bonus and stock options. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the position is located.
