Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in a food manufacturing environment. This role involves performing both electrical and mechanical maintenance on food processing machines and other equipment within the facility. The ideal candidate will have experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on food processing machines.

• Conduct maintenance and inspections on machinery and equipment.

• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.

• Repair and replace defective or worn-out machine parts.

• Collaborate with other maintenance team members to diagnose and repair complex machinery or electrical issues.

• Assist in the construction and installation of new equipment.

• Perform preventive and reactive maintenance.

• Maintain facilities including plumbing, painting, carpentry, and other building repairs as needed.

Essential Skills

• Experience in industrial maintenance.

• Proficiency in electrical systems including 3 phase motors, 240-480V, relays, PLC, resistance, and switches.

• Mechanical skills involving pumps, motors, belts, pulleys, and conveyors.

• Ability to troubleshoot motors, understand wire feeds in a three-phase motor, and reverse motor direction.

• Knowledge of transformers and how to test for natural gas leaks.

• Understanding of hard-wired relay and programmable controller logic systems, including ladder logic and schematic reading.

• Capability to run electrical conduit to a motor in a wet environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with VFDs.

• Ability to read schematics and blueprints.

• Experience working on electrical boxes and running conduit in a wet environment.

• TIG welding on stainless steel.

• Refrigeration experience, including copper refrigeration tubing.

• HVAC knowledge.

• Experience in food manufacturing.

Work Environment

This position is based in a food manufacturing facility. There are openings on the 2nd shift (2 positions) and 1st shift (1 position).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morton, Illinois.
