Lowe's Intl Transportation Analyst in Mooresville, North Carolina

Your Impact

The primary purpose of this role is to perform tracking and delivery of Lowe's collect international freight (the fourth largest importer in the United States) to Lowe's distribution facilities equal to approximately 25,000 containers annually. This includes responsibility for movement and asset management of the freight/items for sale in the stores and on-line and the prompt return of that container and chassis equipment, accessorial freight negotiations and invoicing, expedited freight analysis and coordination, tracking and tracing of freight, providing forecasts of inbound freight, smoothing freight flow, nominating dray carriers, and dray carrier management (on-time, CSA scores, billing, maintenance and report, export "Match-Backs", etc.).

What you will do

  • Monitors/utilizes exception management for freight in the Supply Chain and takes any proactive action needed to accommodate that freight (movement, storage, etc.) for this position and its assigned locations

  • Coordinates freight delivery into Regional Distribution Centers, Trans-load Distribution Centers, and Coastal Holding Facilities based upon service percentage, demand percentage, within contract time parameters, while optimizing available workforce (distribution and trucker) and minimizing variance between forecasted and actual containers delivered

  • Works with large specialty programs and with the International Inbound Transportation Manager to assure success in delivering program freight prior to assigned deadlines

  • Assists in the nomination for Lowe’s preferred dray carriers

  • Monitors dray carrier performance

  • Manages yard/pool fleet of empty/loaded containers at distribution facilities

  • Maintains proper documentation for accessorial pay purposes; compiles, validates and submits invoices for accessorial payments

  • Assesses the chassis need for given Regional Distribution Centers, monitors availability to ensure uninterrupted flow of freight, packages into payment invoice and submits for payment of chassis drayage

  • Coordinates maintenance and repair efforts across the network for issues on Lowe’s leased and pool chassis

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree Previous work in team settings

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years' experience in the fields of transportation and/or related international supply chain
