Job Description

WHAT'S THE JOB?

Reporting to the District Manager, we are looking for dynamic and confident Chef Manager (Floater) to join our Dana Hospitality site across the GTA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing supervision, guidance, and support to all Outland kitchen staff

  • Providing training and development through coaching and mentoring, delegation of assigned job tasks and employee evaluation and performance management

  • Working with the District Manager and Regional Chef to achieve personal and company goals

  • Meet with District Manager on a weekly basis to discuss operational needs and requirements

  • Menu planning

  • Food costing

  • Ordering and inventory management

  • Maintain ongoing communication and a working rapport with Outland's guests and clients. Ensuring that the client is satisfied with the overall service, cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining facilities.

  • Manage quality assurance program

  • Perform weekly and monthly audits

  • Complete weekly report and review weekly expenditures (maintain food and labour budget)

  • Conduct daily toolbox talks and complete all required safety paperwork

Physical Demands:

  • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.

  • Climb ladders or stairs.

  • Stand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended lengths of time.

  • Perform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both hands.

  • Work with arms above shoulder height.

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOING FOR?

  • G class licensed driver with clean abstract

  • 5 - 8 years experience working in commercial kitchens (camp, hotel, or banquet preferred)

  • 2 - 4 years as a First Cook or Sous Chef

  • 1 - 2 years experience managing kitchen operations

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office

  • Valid Standard First Aid Certificate

  • Exceptional oral and written communications skills

  • Must have an acceptable Criminal Records Check

  • Positive attitude

  • Clean and safe work habits

  • Ability to lead and delegate tasks

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Ability to problem solve

  • Exceptional organizational skills
