Wolters Kluwer VP, Product Software Engineering - Compliance Solutions in Minneapolis, Minnesota

The VP, Product Software Engineering - CS is responsible for the technology strategy for the Wolters Kluwer Compliance Solutions business and for the execution of product delivery for the business, including product platforms and the products built on those platforms. S/he provides executive leadership and is responsible for all aspects of the product engineering organization, including strategy, architecture, delivery of all platforms, products and transformation programs, financial and staff management, and operations oversight. S/he oversees a product portfolio that includes software self-hosted by customers and Software as a Service, delivered to financial institutions primarily in the US. S/he motivates and builds a high performing diverse global technical organization. S/he combines technical and software delivery expertise with project and program execution experience and business acumen.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an executive advisor to the GM and the CS Leadership Team on all matters of technology and product strategy for the CS business.

  • Successfully deliver projects, programs and releases across the technology portfolio.

  • Continuously assess and develop strategies and long-term roadmap for the technology platforms supporting the CS business strategy, go-to-market plans and product roadmap. Continually evolve (modernize) the technology base for the CS product and platform portfolio.

  • Optimize the delivery of software across the dimensions of time, cost, scope and quality. Continually improve product development practices.

  • Maintain a customer-focused orientation and drive the same within the technology organization.

  • Work with Product Management, Sales, Professional Services, Support, Operations to understand and incorporate product and platform needs and incorporate them into the product roadmap. Develop an understanding of the Finance, Risk and Regulatory Reporting domain. Find delightful innovations to deliver.

  • Manage organizational finances within constraints of the CS P&L to maximize value delivered while minimizing cost.

  • Develop a high performing and highly engaged global technical organization. Optimize the global location of staff and contractors.

  • Manages time and company resources appropriately.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.

Job Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline OR equivalent experience.

  • Master’s Degree in Information Science, Computer Science, or Information Technology preferred.

Required Experience:

  • 12+ years of experience leading technology teams with at least 5 years experience leading large (100+ members) technology teams in a senior leadership position.

  • Experience in leading global technology teams.

  • Experience in leading organizations of greater than 100 staff members.

  • Experience in leading efforts to build and deliver complex technology systems using multiple project teams for construction, with a minimum budget of $10 million.

  • Demonstrated experience of successful delivery of large key projects in a matrixed environment.

  • Experience developing project plans.

  • Experience leading and influencing business decisions in cross functional, matrixed global technology teams, including external resource management and planning.

  • Experience maintaining strong vendor relationships.

  • Proven track record in leading change.

  • Demonstrating strong written and verbal communication, fluent in English.

  • Experience leading merger, acquisition, divesture, and integration activities as a business team member.

Travel requirements - Occasional domestic and international travel is required based on business needs.
