TEKsystems Service Desk Technician in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Description:

A client of TEKsystems is seeking a sociable, energetic Training and Applications Specialist to work in our Information Technology Department - someone who can provide technical assistance to all levels of employees. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team with great personalities fosters an opportunity for professional growth. The responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to:

 Maintain and record end user-support tickets and other applications, as required.

 Document problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities.

 Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing processes.

 Read and develop technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support.

 Test programs, correct errors and make necessary modifications.

 Work as part of a project team to coordinate solutions.

 Train users and answer questions.

 Approve, schedule and plan installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems such as the installation of new or existing software.

 May be required to provide after-hours support.

 Four year college degree.

 Up to 5 years experience in the Information Technology field in a professional service environment.

 Microsoft Office 365 and Windows 10 and 11 preferred.

 Strong interpersonal relationships and ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

 Ability to work within a team environment and work well under pressure with deadlines.

 Ability to organize and prioritize work and follow assignments through to completion.

 Ability to be flexible in schedule and adaptable to constant change.

 Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and frequent interruptions.

 Ability to handle details with accuracy.

 Job duties may require time over 37.50 hours per week.

 Requires use of office equipment, such as computer terminals, telephones and copiers.

 Requires sitting and computer-related activities for extended periods of time.

 Requires lifting of up to 20 lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

The IT Team is very family oriented and is a top Firm in the Twin Cities. They are very innovative and progressive. This individual will be a Jack of all Trades – assisting with Training and Project Management from time to time. Initially, they will be on site for 6 months and then move to a hybrid schedule (9 days on site and 3 weeks at home). Zoom Interview initially with in-person Interviews after if initial conversation goes well.
