BAE Systems Senior Electrical Engineer in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Job Description

BAE Systems, one of the world's leading defense contractors is seeking an Electrical Engineer for our Combat Mission Systems business. The Electrical Engineer supports the development, testing, fabrication, and fielding of highly complex military equipment. In this role, the Electrical Engineer researches, plans, designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates electronic and electrical systems and components. Utilizing advanced modeling and analysis tools to develop product specifications, models, simulations, technical data packages, and integration and verification procedures.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will:

  • Evaluate vendor capabilities, technologies, services and their ability to deliver required products or services

  • Work under minimal supervision of a project engineering lead to perform electrical system design on a variety of military systems, ranging from combat vehicles, gun systems, and guided munitions.

  • Provide detailed engineering analysis of components, subsystems, and systems for military product application.

  • Perform technical analysis, testing, calculations, and evaluation of results to solve complex engineering/scientific problems, using specialized equipment, and/or by creating computer programs, models, or simulations.

  • Create and manage interface control documents and design documentation in accordance with applicable engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements by analyzing and interpreting requirements/specifications results.

  • Perform circuit simulation (PSpice or LTspice).

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 4 years relevant experience

  • High level analytical ability to solve complex technical design and development problems

  • High levels of communication skills to prepare and present status report and technical results to project lead internal management and external customers.

  • Experience with analog and digital circuit design and analysis

  • Experience developing technical documentation such as drawings, reports, and technical analysis

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Familiarity with troubleshooting circuits using oscilloscopes and multimeters

  • Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, PSpice, LabVIEW, Test Stand

  • Working knowledge of OrCAD and Visio

  • Experience with engineering design of wiring harnesses and cable assemblies for military systems.

  • Experience with integrating Field Programmable Gate Arrays and development of electronic control logic.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $92290 - $156860

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
