Senior Accounting Manager, Investment Accounting Team

Exciting leadership opportunity alert! Our Client, an institutional investment management firm in the Minneapolis/St Paul Market, Is seeking a Senior Manager to join their Investment Accounting team. They are seeking someone experienced in handling various reporting and accounting procedures with strong investment accounting knowledge. This role would be great for someone looking to bring innovation and process improvements the investment accounting team and participate in enterprise-level and team-scale projects. This position offers excellent career growth potential. (This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office)

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and ensure accurate accounting/reporting for derivatives, seed money, and other equity-type investments.

• Review and oversee the daily reconciliation processes, set up new investments, approve general entries and accounting reconciliations, and regulatory reporting.

• Lead monthly processes for reporting corporate assets, assets owned, and the related transfer pricing process.

• Prepare quarterly bank holding company reporting submissions.

• Collaboratively innovate and improve process efficiencies and controls.

• Oversee investment data for rating agency surveys.

• Lead team members, and provide timely performance feedback and professional development opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

• 7+ years of experience in derivative and investment accounting, including 2+ years of demonstrated leadership.

• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting treatment for derivatives and investments.

• Proven ability to lead through change and strong problem-solving skills.

• Ability to handle detailed work, analyze results, and understand the broader perspective.

• Excellent understanding of systems, controls, accounting knowledge, financials, and processes within multiple legal entities.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience with investment accounting

• Proficient in Derivative Accounting

• Experience in dealing with Alternative Investments

• Strong skills in Financial Reporting and Management Reporting

• Familiarity with GAAP - STAT

• Excellent leadership and management skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Professional certification CPA is preferred

• Proficient in using financial software and advanced MS Excel skills

• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail

• Strong communication and presentation skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks

• Solid understanding of financial set-up, procedures, statistics and economics.
