Demonstrated experience with implementing large-scale transposon mutagenesis approaches is essential. Familiarity with lab animal safety and handling and compliance is desirable. Writing - 10% Researcher will write reports on their work as required by the funding agency, write up results for publication. Researcher will also assist the lab PI in preparing applications for new funding opportunities. Advising - 15% Researcher will help mentor graduate and undergraduate students in the lab on a variety of projects. Researcher should be familiar with a broad range of molecular biology methods, sequencing / bioinformatic approaches, and microbial physiology in model environmental microbes. Qualifications Essential Qualifications All applicants must have a PhD in microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field. About the Department Our research strives to integrate both classical and modern molecular approaches to understand how bacteria influence our planet and how they can be engineered for applications in bioremediation, bioenergy and biocatalysis.
