Location: Middletown, NY

Hours: M-F 830 am to 5 pm

Salary: $65,000 (LMSW/LP-MHC) $72,500 (LMHC) $75,000 (LCSW)

Hybrid Schedule

OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES :

The primary clinician has the primary responsibilities of providing clinical services to the OTNY program. The OnTrackNY Program is an innovative treatment program at Middletown, NY. The program serves adolescents and young adults who have experienced an initial episode of psychosis. The Primary Clinician will work 1.0 or 0.5 FTE as part of a small multidisciplinary team providing coordinated and assertive treatment in the earliest stages of illness.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS :

  • Serves as the point person for the participant and their family;

  • Conduct needs assessments;

  • Engages in safety planning and wellness management planning with participants;

  • Connects participants and families with the services and supports they need;

  • Provide behavioral interventions and take an especially active role in the family support domain.

  • Conducts clinical assessment to determine the participant’s level of social functioning and substance use via a shared decision making (SDM) framework

  • Provides Social Skills Training, Substance Abuse Treatment, Behavioral Activation, Coping Skills Training, and Psycho-education.

  • Provides psychoeducation regarding first episode psychosis (FEP) and the goals of the OnTrackNY program;

  • Provides supportive therapy;

  • Develops and modifies treatment using a shared decision-making process with clients

    QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES :

  • NYS Professional Licensure - Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Master of Social Work, or Licensed Clinical Social Work

  • Comfort in working clinically with adolescents, adults and families for both individual and group services

  • Experience working with individuals with mental health and symptoms of psychosis

  • Computer skills and efficiency in working with electronic medical records

  • Willingness to perform other duties as assigned

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

  • Licensed Masters or Ph.D. in an appropriate field (social work, psychology, mental health counseling)

  • Training and experience working with adolescents and/or young adults with serious mental illness.

  • Experience in community-based mental health services

    PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS :

  • May be subjected to long-periods of sitting or standing
