Shell Maintenance Planner/Scheduler in Michigan City, Indiana

Plans and schedules maintenance work in conjunction with operations to support reliable production while also ensuring that preventative and corrective maintenance tasks are prioritized in accordance with the site needs.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: (Majority of duties performed, but not meant to be all-inclusive or to prevent other duties from being assigned.)

  • Works closely with the OMC and Maintenance Supervisor to plan and schedule maintenance work, including but not limited to daily, shutdown, or other outages utilizing SAP and/or other appropriate tools

  • Meet and coordinate with operations or others to effectively schedule planned maintenance work

  • Provide maintenance supervisor with work packages for planned work in advance; provide scheduled work lists to operations or others to support prep work such as LOTO or other

  • Support GAME-ME activities in support of plant maintenance function, including but not limited to planned, predictive, preventive, and corrective in conjunction with maintenance manager. Establish and maintain shutdown files; take lead role in shutdown planning and coordination utilizing appropriate software tools (Microsoft Project). Ensure that parts/tools/equipment are available for scheduled work

  • Establish and maintain “Job Kit” system to provide for planned work, maintain MRO supplies as necessary to support maintenance activities

  • Prepare appropriate activity reports in coordination with accounting. Perform HSSE contractor holder responsibilities for contract maintenance work activities

  • Supports analysis of equipment maintenance data for reliability analysis. Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors in support of optimized maintenance work activities

  • Participate in continuous improvement administrative and technical programs, such as cost reduction, process improvement, and communication

  • Backup as Maintenance Supervisor if directed during vacations/absences

HSSE roles and responsibilities:

  • Leader and individual contributor to safe and environmentally sound plant operations

  • Responsible for compliance to all personal HSSE goals/requirements

  • Responds to hazards immediately by reducing risks, reporting incidents, and participating in root cause analysis

What we need from you

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis.

  • Minimum associate degree; OR an equivalent

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in computers/software, specifically SAP, and stores inventory management systems

  • Excellent communication skills-both verbal and in writing

  • Ability to read and comprehend written material, prepare correspondence, present training materials

  • Ability to work in excess of the normal 40-hour workweek, including non-standard hours as required by business needs

  • Ability to place and receive orders

  • Leadership/organizational skills

  • Ability to place and receive orders

  • Ability to access, unassisted, all required areas of the facility

The base salary range for this position is $84,000 - $126,000 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.

For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave to birthing mothers, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.

Additionally, employees are eligible for disability leave for up to 52 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
