Our facility in Miamisburg, Ohio is home to our Defense and Aerospace Business Unit with strategic leadership and administration responsibilities for the global defense organization. This site specializes in the design, manufacture and test of energetic safety systems including electronic safe, arm and fire (ESAF) devices and firing modules (FMs), ignition safety devices (ISDs), custom energetics, and Blue Chip detonators and serves a variety of high-performance applications including precision munitions, tactical missiles, launch vehicles, and strategic missiles. Excelitas Technologies is looking for a hands-on Test Engineer to support its Destructive (D-Test) and Non-Destruct (NDT) Testing group. The NDT/D-Test testing group supports all production and development products for the site. Testing processes include environmental conditioning, Live Fire testing of electronic fuzing and other detonating devices, as well as various non-destructive electronic testing of product. Handling of explosive components will be required. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a cross functional team and will be reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with and oversee day to day D-Test operations and support NDT processing for both production and development products; Document all D-Test results, generate and provide test reports to program teams as required; Create and modify test procedures as necessary to document product test requirements and establish appropriate process and safety controls for product testing. Train production operators as required; Develops knowledge base to design, develop and maintain testing hardware and software to support NDT and D-Test; Handle multiple projects. Perform any and all required coordination with other operations to ensure that test schedules are met; Assist Master Scheduler to schedule and coordinate all testing; Initiate Test Incident Reports and conduct failure analyses as required. Perform root cause analysis, and initiate appropriate corrective action to prevent recurrence of failures; Review engineering designs and product specifications for testing feasibility and recommends design changes that will enhance product design, eliminating variation; Train production employees in the operation of specialized test equipment; Evaluate current or new equipment, as necessary. Recommend and initiate purchase to support testing group; Ensures a safe work environment by monitoring accident investigation and other safety-related activities in the work area. MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering; Ability to discuss test results with internal and external customers; Strong judgment and decision-making skills; Please note that due to the requirements from the Department of Energy, U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in a non-destructive test / destructive test environment; Experience with High Voltage Potential (Hi-Pot), Resistive, and Electro-Thermal Response testing processes; Experience with multiple electrical testing equipment; oscilloscope operation and other data acquisition devices; Experience with LabView, Lab Windows, C-Programing, or other software program
