Histotechnician V

Job Description

The Histotechnician will perform all routine and special paraffin histotechnology duties in our state-of-the-art CAP-certified pathology laboratory. Under the guidance of a Lead Histotechnologist, you will provide high-quality diagnostic material within established turnaround times. Responsibilities include cutting, staining, and processing tissue in the Immunohistochemistry laboratory, performing accurate gross descriptions on tissue samples, performing quality control procedures, operating instruments/equipment according to procedures, and assisting in resolving testing errors. Additionally, you will record, transcribe, and maintain records of patient test results, ensuring accuracy and completeness before releasing results in the Laboratory Information System.

Hard Skills

• Associate degree in medical technology, chemistry, biology, or related life science

• Formal training in Histology from an accredited program (720 hours)

• State Licensure where applicable (CA, FL, NY require licensing)

• Skills in microtomy, grossing, processing, embedding, cutting, and routine special staining techniques

• Meets CLIA personnel standard criteria

• 10 years of experience preferred

Soft Skills

• Ability to assist other personnel with identifying and analyzing inconsistent and abnormal results

• Ability to maintain accurate records

• Ability to meet acceptable turnaround time and productivity standards

Job Type

This is a contract position with a duration of 13 Week(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Miami, Florida.

Work Environment

The position is based in a Lab, operating Monday through Friday, from 10pm to 6:30am (3rd shift).
