Position Overview: East Mississippi State Hospital is seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a Driver. The Driver will play a crucial role in supporting the hospital's transportation needs, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of staff, patients, and goods.
Responsibilities:
Transportation Services:
- Safely operate hospital vehicles to transport patients, staff, and goods as required.
- Follow established routes and schedules to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
- Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle at all times, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of passengers during transit.
- Follow hospital policies and procedures related to vehicle operation and patient transport.
Communication and Coordination:
- Maintain effective communication with dispatch, supervisors, and other team members.
- Assist passengers as needed, including boarding and disembarking from vehicles.
- Coordinate transportation logistics to optimize efficiency and minimize delays.
Record-Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, vehicle inspections, and passenger logs.
- Submit reports and documentation in a timely manner as required.
Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service to all passengers and stakeholders.
- Handle any inquiries or issues professionally and promptly.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
- Knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and carry items as required for the role.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and pushing/pulling.
- Must be able to pass a physical examination and drug screening.
