JOB REQUIREMENTS: Manufacturing Technology Engineer - MicroReplication - R01133321 DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Job Description: This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. The Impact You\'ll Make in this Role As a Manufacturing Technology Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: * Develop and lead structure generation using precision turning equipment (lathe or similar) to support new commercialization efforts of optical film used in display technology. * Lead the development of manufacturing processes and products, including ownership of experiments involving precision process equipment * Develop an understanding of industry and 3M technologies and participate in the advancement of the technology and intellectual property creation and protection. Lead efforts to implement new technology into manufacturing * Implement projects to improve process control. Strong data analysis skills are required. * Successfully interact with multiple discipline teams including 3M laboratories, manufacturing plant personnel, consultants, and suppliers. * Determine necessary improvements and upgrades in area of responsibility for input to the annual capital planning process * Provide hands on process troubleshooting and operational support for manufacturing operations and commercialization teams * Communicate with equipment suppliers in the specification, purchase and delivery of commercial items. Participate in the assembly/checkout of equipment in the fabrication shop and installation and commissioning of equipment in the 3M manufacturing plant. * Work with internal and external resources to ensure technical, cost and schedule requirements are met * Develop knowledge in precision engineering principles. * Have a passion for technology and product development Work location: Menomonie, WI Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international Relocation Assistance: May be authorized Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
