The Controls and Electrical Engineering Manager will lead the team responsible for driving the development, implementation, and maintenance of advanced control systems within our manufacturing processes in Foodservice. This role is critical to ensuring that our manufacturing operations are efficient, reliable, and meet the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor a team of electrical and controls engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and support professional development.

  • Project Management:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects, ensuring they meet technical specifications, timelines, and budget expectations.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and maintenance to ensure seamless project integration.

  • System Design, Implementation and Maintenance:

  • Design and implement robust electrical control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes.

  • Develop and track implementation of obsolescence plans for controls and electrical systems for Foodservice equipment.

  • Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system layouts.

  • Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.

  • Technical Expertise:

  • Provide expert guidance and troubleshooting for complex electrical and control system issues.

  • Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and industry best practices to continuously improve system performance.

  • Understand performance losses related to controls and electrical systems and develop plans to address losses and improve reliability.

  • Quality Assurance and Risk Management:

  • Establish and maintain quality control processes for all electrical and control systems.

  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to ensure system reliability and safety.

  • Oversee system testing, validation, and commissioning.

  • Budgeting and Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage budgets for electrical and controls engineering projects.

  • Allocate resources efficiently to ensure projects goals and operations goals are met.

  • Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to procure necessary components and services.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of designs, modifications, and project progress.

  • Prepare and present reports to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Ensure all technical documentation is accurate and up-to-date, following ECM process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering within a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.

  • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, control systems, automation, and PLC programming.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing engineering teams and mid-scale projects.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and strategic thinking abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., CAD, PLC programming, SCADA systems).

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based with regular visits to manufacturing sites and vendor locations

Pay Range: $117,900.00 - $157,200.00
