The Senior Accountant supports the Senior Manager of Financial Consolidation & Reporting to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of the International Paper global consolidated financial results and related financial reporting. In addition, the position provides support to International Paper Finance customers (both internal and external to Corporate Accounting).

The Job You Will Perform:

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and supporting schedules for internal and external reporting

• Coordinate and participate in the monthly performance reporting and consolidated income statement and balance sheet closing processes

• Prepare and analyze Corporate financial results including Corporate Unallocated reporting and enterprise LIFO reserve calculation

• Responsible for the Business Validation Reporting (BVR) process including provide support to global Businesses for issue resolution and oversight of Management adjustment process

• Drive identification and implementation of Finance process and reporting improvements

• Coordinate external audit requests

• Other special projects as required

The Skills You Will Bring:

• BA/BS in Finance or Accounting

• Strong understanding of US GAAP with practical application experience

• External reporting experience

• Strong Excel proficiency

• Global consolidations experience

• Good written and oral communication skills

• Minimum 5 - 7 years of experience

• Critical thinking and analytical skills

• Ability to work independently

• CPA preferred

• SAP GL and BPC experience preferred
