Basic Job Functions:
The District Technical Service Manager will provide technical support to District Sales Managers and Inside sales and Tech service teams at the plant to ensure that customer expectations are met. Other functions to be completed include:1. Review and respond to metallurgical/technical issues related to customer RFQs, complaints, and general questions with the necessary urgency. 2. Be main customer technical contact and coordinator with new business for any EBG plant.
Prefer cold heading quality experience but not absolutely required. Will be part of Automotive team for the EBG. Specifically, for automotive fasteners and coil spring applications and other coil products that go into automotive applications.
Meet with customers technical personnel on a regular basis to determine technical direction on new products or claim situations.
Work closely with mill operations and metallurgical personnel to identify and correct root causes of problems, including customer feedback and complaints. Be main technical lead in large claim situation where being on customer site often is required. 5. Collaborate with plant Technical Manager, Product Metallurgist, and production teammates to qualify new products (PPAPs).6. Prioritize and drive continuous improvement initiatives based on customer feedback, product quality data, productivity goals and cost reduction targets.7. Establish strong relationships with customers in Technical Service activities to advance Nucors mission of Commercial Excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:
Materials Engineering degree or equivalent Engineering degree.
Minimum 3 years experience working with customers from a technical perspective.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Nucor will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Cold Heading Quality applications or other coiled bar products
