About the team:

This role sits within the Water Resources team which encompasses the geographical areas of Australia and New Zealand. We support flexible working arrangements, and the successful candidate can be based anywhere within this area, with a preference for Victoria. Our section contains a range of specialist skills in hydrology, flood modelling, aquatic ecology, water quality and hydrogeology. About the role:

We are looking for a Senior Hydrogeologist to help us deliver a strong pipeline of work on high profile and challenging projects that span natural resource management to major infrastructure design. We invest in building and sustaining trusted relationships with key clients including but not limited to; water authorities, resourcing clients, council and government authorities as well as contribute to a range of joint ventures on road and rail projects. We are also currently helping to implement the intent of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan through the Sustainable Diversion Limit Adjustment Mechanism (SDLAM) projects in NSW, and Victorian Murray Floodplain Restoration Project (VMFRP).

As a Senior Hydrogeologist , you will be responsible for leading the technical input to projects, building relationships with internal and external clients, and coaching a range of less experienced professionals.

There is the potential for this role to have a secondary responsibility as Team Leader to help support the Section Leader (SL) to provide leadership to the team. This role sits alongside your core Senior Hydrogeologist role and should makeup approximately 20-25% of your day to day responsibilities.

The purpose of this role is to undertake groundwater projects and to collaboratively work with other disciplines.

You will be required to write proposals for, win and manage both complex and smaller hydrological projects.

You will be responsible for undertaking a range of groundwater projects, including the supervision of small teams to deliver projects.

Completing office-based hydrogeological assessments using a variety of modelling software packages, using coding (e.g. R, python or C# programming) and/or GIS packages to enable the efficient and effective delivery of services.

Data collection and analysis. Presenting information to clients, stakeholders and internal management in a concise and effective manner

Authoring complex assessments / reports. Report checking and review.

Technical and speciality skills:

Degree in Science or Engineering

Experience in groundwater field work, including groundwater well installation, groundwater sampling, permeability tests, etc.

Ability to review or compile technical reports that detail the type, methodologies, results of field activities, interpretation of results and impact assessment

Maintain proficiency in the use of standard tools, techniques and equipment that are required for the undertaking, completion and delivery of your work.

Ensure sufficient knowledge of the legislation and policies that are relevant to our work.
