Verndale SEO Specialist in Medellin, Colombia
About the SEO Specialist Position
In this role, you will be comfortable with and capable of communicating the vision and benefits of various digital marketing categories including SEO, web analytics, and content strategy. SEO Specialists will also support Verndale’s Digital Marketing offerings and be knowledgeable in speaking about them.
Overall, you will be tasked with making sure digital content is well-optimized for search engines, while also being clear and helpful to users to support our clients in driving qualified traffic and competing effectively in their industry.
Responsibilities
Perform reviews of existing websites and evaluate against best practices to deliver a prioritized list of recommendations for optimizations
Assess site content and propose what to keep/remove based on performance and business goals
Develop SEO-focused content reflective of keyword strategies and competitive analysis
Optimizing client-produced content for SEO via schema and meta data
Prepare and check websites pre and post launch to ensure crawlability and indexability
Presenting and communicating directly with client teams, including stakeholders with varying levels of SEO knowledge
Provide reviews and recommendations for the client on a long term/ongoing basis
Analyze performance of SEO/content through Google Analytics, keyword ranking tools, and content intelligence tools
Work cross-functionally to support activities for user experience, design, development etc
Support thought leadership in a larger capacity: blog posts, marketing videos
Focus on client work and occasionally sales support on a weekly basis
Stay up to date on the latest trends in SEO ie. algorithm changes, AI implications, new tools/capabilities
Qualifications
1-3 years of experience (required)
Strong in English language (required)
Strong understanding of all 3 pillars of SEO and also content strategy/optimization (required)
Experience with SEO ranking tools such as SEMrush, SEOMoz, Ahrefs, etc. (required)
Experience with site crawling tools such as Screaming Frog
Experience with the Google suite including: Google Analytics, Google Search Console (required)
