Job Purpose We have an immediate opening for a Senior Product Engineer in the Dana's Core Product Engineering Group. This person will focus on the design and/or selection of fastener and snap rings, and their related specification developments, analyses, calculations and testing in both new and existing Dana automotive applications globally. Job Duties and Responsibilities * Responsible for developing "Best in Class" products for Dana customers globally. * Support all product development and validation activities including: DFMEA, design reviews, drawing and model creation (CAD), finite element analysis (FEA), prototype builds, DV/PV testing, NVH verification. * Initiate and Lead product design for function, quality, manufacturing, and assembly. * Develop and maintain standard product catalogs and related technical specifications. * Evaluate and provide disposition of engineering change requests and work orders. * Develop and support cost savings initiatives and supplier complexity reduction strategies. * Provide technical support to Applications Engineering during all phases of vehicle development including: pre-sourcing, vehicle validation, product validation, vehicle start of production (SOP), and post-SOP. * Communicate all engineering and development issues as needed to Dana internal functions - Program Management, Sales, Manufacturing, Test Lab, Quality, Warranty, and Engineering Management. * Prepare and present technical presentations, test reports, damage analysis and other various engineering analyses to demonstrate the integrity of product. * Analyze warranty data and develop effective counter measures. * Support Advanced Program Quality Planning (APQP) activities. Preferred Requirements: * Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, B.S.M.E. * 5+ years' experience in automotive engineering * Background in fasteners and/or snap rings * Experience developing and working with engineering standards, product validation plans, DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, and GD&T. * Design and Release for components. * Excellent mechanical aptitude and analytical ability. * Willingness and ability to work extended or irregular hours when necessary. * Understanding and/or experience using CAE tools (ABACUS/FEA/FESAFE) * Must be a self-directed, motivated, and organized individual with strong program management/follow-up skills who is willing to accept multiple responsibilities. * Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). * Must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally.
