Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Industrial Maintenance Technician performs preventative maintenance, normal maintenance, and emergency repairs on plant equipment including conveyors, slicing, labelling, and packaging equipment. This role involves fabricating and installing various pieces of equipment, rebuilding equipment, and performing tasks such as pipe fitting, plumbing, electrical, and electronic installations and repairs. All tasks must be completed in a safe and efficient manner to ensure the production of quality products and continuous improvement. This position also has accountability for Q-RMP standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative, normal, and emergency maintenance on plant equipment.

  • Fabricate and install various pieces of equipment and rebuild equipment as necessary.

  • Perform pipe fitting, plumbing, electrical, and electronic installations and repairs.

  • Ensure all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.

  • Ensure the production of quality products and continuous improvement.

  • Accountable for Q-RMP standards as outlined in the Claussen Woodstock Accountability document.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience.

  • Experience with electrical maintenance up to 480v.

  • Mechanical maintenance skills.

  • Ability to troubleshoot PLCs.

  • Hydraulics and pneumatics experience.

  • Experience with replacing and repairing motors, gearboxes, and photo eyes.

  • Lockout/Tagout procedures.

  • Experience with 24v hoppers and drop buckets.

  • Experience with heat sealers.

  • Experience with conveyors.

  • Ability to handle work orders and assist in other areas if needed.

  • Effective communication between shifts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Military background in electrical and mechanical maintenance.

  • Electrician experience.

  • Welding skills.

  • Experience in a food and beverage facility.

  • Preventive maintenance skills.

  • Knowledge of industrial maintenance, blueprint reading, wiring, gearboxes, multimeters, 3-phase wiring, welding, and electrical troubleshooting.

Work Environment

This is a GMP environment requiring proper PPE such as hair nets, beard nets, non-slip shoes, and safety glasses. Shifts available include 2nd shift (2:00pm - 10:30pm) and 3rd shift (10:30pm - 7:00am), Monday through Friday with occasional overtime, especially during the busy season from July to the end of the year. The facility maintains a temperature of around 50 degrees, and certain areas are refrigerated or temperature controlled. Appropriate attire includes hair nets, hard hats, safety glasses, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, and smocks.
